AB Gnome is correct. EU to EU is 3.200 cigs. From any other country out of EU only the 200 is allowed.

If you do take the risk of smuggle, spread them evenly all over your luggage and do not display any duty free bags openly. That is very important and after 50 years of travel I did become a professional in tobacco and alcohol smuggle.

But - if you get court, the fines are pretty hefty.

    3,200 per adult

most places in Greece offer you a free suitcase to bring them home if you buy 4000 at once.

Source(s): done it many times and I am going again in two weeks.
  • The most I'd risk is 1000. You have to be able to prove to customs that they are for your own personal use.

    At 10 a day that's just 3 months' supply.

However, it might be an idea to buy a lot more then declare them at UK customs and pay the duty. You will probably save a lot by doing this.

@David Ross is correct you can only "legally" bring back 200 cigarettes from any EU country.

  • And why not they are soooooooooo cheap there
