Question for real Bruins fans, not band-wagoners?

Well ever since I was born and long before that the majority of players on the Bruin were Canadians so it has never bothered me. I have no clue why they chant USA at the game but again never really bothered me.

Just to name a few again it has always been a non issue for me.

And several of the Canucks are from the USA.

I think it is the assumption that many Boston hockey fans are ignorant. And given that there was a lot of chanting that would be correct in most instances.

I know that there was an incident in which a boy's hockey team from the Boston area went up to Canada for a tournament. The Canadian fans jeered the kids and shouted them in protest against the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Maybe this is in retaliation for that. But it is never a good idea to fight ignorance with ignorance back. For Canadian adults to taunt and jeer American children over politics was just ridiculous.

Hockey is not an American sport, it is a Canadian sport. And yes the Boston Bruins are made up of predominantly Canadian players.

Its the Stanley Cup, not the Olympics. I think when I was watching the last game one of the guys holding a sign that read "USA!" was wearing a Dallas Cowboys helmet. He probably doesn't even follow hockey and was just there to rile people up.

I LOVE THE BRUINS! I don't care where the players are from! I'm supporting my team. You'd never find me chanting USA at a Cup Finals game for the simple reason that the Cup Finals aren't about which countries made it to the championship. It's about the TEAMS that made it there! Hooray for the PLAYERS--regardless of where they're from!!!!

If you're asking just, in general, how I feel about only one American on the team? I'm okay with it--especially when he's the best goalie in the league! Hahahahah, honestly, I don't like to make it a rivalry between countries in any way. As far as I'm concerned, Canadians invented the best sport on Earth and shared it with America, who happens to have most of the NHL teams. Big deal. Now let's focus on the game!!!! What's your question here? I'm a real Bruins fan and I'm not chanting USA. I don't like the fact that they are calling it Canada against American. But, we aren't going to be chanting Canada either. This is an American team against a Canadian team no matter how to look at it. The Bruins team is in America and the Canucks team is in Canada. That's why everyone is chanting USA. If you have a problem with it, don't watch the games.

Players that wear the Bruins uniform are Boston Bruins - doesn't matter where they were born only who they play for. The Canucks have Int'l players that Canada doesn't consider them Canadian is our problem. I live in Toronto but have loved the Bruins since I was a kid - that they have Canadian born players on the team only makes it more sweet.

I don't chant USA... However, others may decide to do so because the media places heavy emphasis on things like a USA vs Canada Final. It may also be because they feel a rivalry because Canadians feel entitled to more hockey teams, etc. because they are better fans, etc.

I don't think nationality matters. Even if majority is from Canada; it's expected. Hockey is a prime and their main sport up there. Because they play in a state in the U.S.A :) Also, there's more than 1 American on the team.
