10 week old puppy -- Advice needed?
I was wondering if it's normal that my 10 week old puppy bites and puts his mouth on everything... I mean literally the only time he's not biting pants, shoes, hands, arms, toys, etc... Is when he's asleep. I have tried yelping, ignoring, bitter apple, spray water, but the only thing to calm him down is to hold him down for a minute or two... Then he'll walk away. Any advice?? Thanks in advance!
Btw, he's a German Shepherd/Boxer mix...

Yes it's normal, but it is supposed to be discouraged. When we have a dog for a pet, we want them domesticated. They are not wild dogs that should be biting. So since we don't want dogs that will bite and hurt us or others, we need to discourage biting from the beginning. Keep yelping LOUD when the dog bites you and walk away, stop playing with it. Eventually it will teach it that biting is unacceptable.

What I do at this stage with a puppy is I give them lots of toys and I buy Bully Sticks these are better than raw hide or pig ears, He is teething and they do a lot of chewing, If he chews on your fingers hard just pull his lip over his teeth until he yelps when he sees that chewing your fingers hurts he will stop. You must also try to give him lots of exercises and tire him out this will make him a littler more calmer, At this age I am sure he does not have all his shots, be very careful not to take him out and about till he has had at least 3 shots, Parvo is very nasty and expensive.
On my website there is a lot of useful information on puppies.
Good Luck.

It sounds like your puppy is teething! This is a perfectly normal stage in his development; his teeth are growing in and causing him some pain, so he's chewing to help them along, just like human babies do. Its important at this point to get him some hard, durable toys and redirect him to these when he starts to chew on something inappropriate. If he's biting you, give him a firm "no", and flip him onto his back until he calms down. Its important to establish yourself as the boss while he's still young. Other than that, just keep telling him no when he chews anything other than his toys, then offer him one and praise him like crazy when he chews it. He'll grow out of this stage, for the most part, but you do want to teach him now what he can and cant have, before his jaws get even stronger. Good luck!

Perfectly normal! i also have a 9 week old pup as well and just like babies, they like to investegate with their mouth. now although this is normal, it should still be corrected before walls and furniture are destroyed (didnt know a puppy could chew andd destroy a middle of the wall until I got my newest puppy)! when it happens say No, firmly and if they still do not listen, ignore and walk to where they cannot bite you then they will think "when i bite, she leaves" and the pup should get the memo soon(: good luck!

Gina- Throwing a dog on its back will teach it to not trust you.
He's teething, like everyone else said, get some really good chew toys that a German shepherd dog can chew without breaking, like a kong. Any time he chews something he's no su[[osed to, tell him no and redirect him to the chew toy.

Buy him a chew toy and play with it with him to let him know it's what he can bite. He's a puppy and his teeth could be growing, so they generally chew in these situations. Or maybe he does it for attention as it gets you to stop what you're doing and focus on him

Yeas It is normal.
Even my dog when it was a puppy bites everything but now he stoped.
He is a doberman/pit bull mix.

Yes, it is normal
Anything you do other than ignore him & remove his mouth is actually encouraging this behavior
Have you considered Puppy Classes for Obedience Training?

He's teething. Try buying some toys for him to chew on instead.
