Why is it that in America, water level in toilet bowls so high, unlike Australia and UK?

Question

why do you need all that water for?? Your bottom will be almost touching the water..and when you poo, it will be only a few inches away from your a** lol. So why are american toilet water bowl level very high in america unlike australia and uk?

in australia and uk only the small hole is filled with water.

No difference --- you just experienced Boy toilets vs Girl Toilets. Water level in BOWL (not tank) is determined by TRAP design .... LOWER water for Boys or they are "dipping" ---- higher levels for girls as courtesy of less splash. I have found even Home Depot and Loews toilet salesmen don't know this.
