Induced for high blood pressure?

I'm 36 weeks and 2days. I have had a normal pregnancy, then I went for my last check up and my blood pressure was 159/101 I had swollen ankles and protein in my urine and seeing white floaters. My doctor sent me over to the hospital to be checked for preeclampsia. The doctor at the hospital checked my labs. He said I dont have preeclampsia but doesnt mean I cant get it. He said I have a small amount of protein in my urine, I asked if it could be normal he said really skeptical it could be. My blood pressure is still high I'm going back to the doctor today after two days from my last to monitor my bp. I rechecked my blood pressure this morning and it was 162/110. I go to my appt at 2. Does anybody know if this would cause them to have to induce me. I have no clue why its so high and it stresses me which doesnt make it any better. My norm is 120s/60s . Thanks in advance.

Update:

Also after leaving the hospital my doctor put me on modified bedrest. Its really not making my blood pressure any better tho. I check my own bp at home. I also read high blood pressure can cause still born and my cousin had one, Ive been freaking out since I read that. I just want my baby to be ok. He's already dropped really low so he doesnt move as much as he does which I do not like, but I still feel him moving.

Some women get a condition called Pregnancy-induced-hypertention (PIH- high blood pressure caused by pregnancy). It's not known why women develop it, so it's not your fault and nothing that you did caused it.

You probably would not be induced just for high blood pressure, but you might be induced for pre-eclampsia. Pre-eclampsia involved high blood pressure and a certain level of protein in the urine. I'm guessing your doctor thinks that you are on the verge of pre-eclampsia and he wants to keep a close eye on you. Pre-eclampsia can progresss to eclampsia, which involved seizures and is dangerous. The only cure for pre-eclampsia and PIH is delivery. Depending on how high your blood pressure is and whether you progress to preeclampsia will determine whether your doctor will induce.

Wow, I was in the same boat as you are and my doctor told me I DID have preeclampsia. I woke up one morning and was literally swollen and I had a doctor's appt. My blood pressure had sky rocketed and it was normal at all for my whole pregnancy. I was actually put into the hospital and induced a few days later because mine did not get any better. This may not be the case for you at all. I wouldn't get too worked up just yet, as that could cause problems by itself. But I would keep and eye on it, rest and keep in contact with your doctor. I would also be prepared for induction if it continues. Not something to be completely freaked out about. Your doctor will montitor the baby and usually if they have any cause for concern they will send you over to the hospital to be monitored for a bit. Get lots of rest and take it easy...they will be with you every step of the way.

The same thing happened to me. My blood pressure went up to 162 over 90. What my doctor did was he stripped my membranes. He then sent me home. He told me that if my water broke, get to the hospital right away. He did this on January 16th. He told me that if my water didn't break, go to the hospital on the 18th at 8:30 in the morning. My water didn't break at home. Though, I was in labor those two days. I went to the hospital on the 18th. I had my daugther at 11:39 am. Good luck. Have your bag ready just in case. You might not be sent home like I was.

Usually they will probably want to because ur bp is high, which will likely put stress or cause problems on the baby!

When u go to the dr make sure u ask every question u may have!

Good luck & congrats on the baby
