What are your babies sleeping patterns like/ were they week at 10 weeks?
Our baby boy is 10 weeks old now.
He goes to bed around 10 , sleeps until 4 am, wakes up to breastfeed.
Goes back to sleep until about 7, wakes up to eat again.
Then will go back to sleep once again until about 10.
Then however I find he does not really nap at all during the day time. Maybe a little 20 minute cat nap here or there, but that's it.
Today however when he got up to eat at 730 I kept him up and got him ready because we had our first baby swim class today at 9. (Its a program for babies offered at our local YMCA)
Then we got home and after he ate I put him in his swing and he fell asleep around 1130 -12 and has been sleeping ever since!
Its been nice because I was able to make and eat lunch, do some laundry, have a shower and get ready etc.
Im wondering if I should just start trying this new schedule instead - rather than let him sleep that extra 2-3 hours in the morning, get him up for the day when he wakes up to eat at 7 instead of rocking him back to sleep. At least that way it would give me the chance to get more done in the day while he naps.
What was your baby's sleep patterns like at 10 weeks?
MommyLife - thats interesting that your baby was cranky without naps, and that the sleep specialist recommended naps in the day!
I find our little boy gets VERY cranky in the evenings...starting around 6pm.
Maybe hes just getting overtired from staying up for such a long stretch.
I think Ill try getting him up earlier the next few days so that I can hopefully get him to nap again in the day time. At least that way hes not going so long between sleep!

My daughter will be 10 weeks on Monday. She goes to sleep around 10pm every night and wakes up a little before 6am every morning. Then its usually play time with mommy until her nap at 8am and that's about an hour nap.
I have found that putting her on a schedule has worked wonders for us! I just started with her morning nap a few weeks ago and went from there. I just watched her to see if she was getting sleepy. Then I wrote down the time I got her to sleep and how long she slept. I continued to do that all day and now she actually does sleep during the day!
I think she didn't before because there was always too much going on. I have to make sure it is rather quiet in the house until I do get her to sleep. Too much stimuli and she fights sleep and becomes really cranky in the evenings. I also found that laying her on her tummy during the day helps her sleep better. (she has reflux) But most babies love sleeping on their tummies. All I have to do is lay her in her co-sleeper on her tummy and she is out in minutes! Of course I keep an eye on her the entire time because I move the co-sleeper in the family room.

Lets see if I can remember that far back lol
She would, get up around 7, go down for a nap 2 hours after waking up (which is what I was told to do by the sleep specialist and it worked great for months)
She had at least 2 naps a day, at least an hour each. If she didn't she was super cranky.
She went to bed around 8 i'll say. She got up a lot. Probably 5 times a night, maybe more.
She has always been a big eater. At a year old it was 2-3 feedings. At 13 months sometimes it would be 1, sometimes it would be 3.
At 15 months, as long as she has a cup before bed, she will go to bed at 8 and wake up at 7:30 with zero or 1 feeding.

My daughter started sleeping through the night at 8 weeks old. She slept from about 11-8am and had 3 naps a day that were 2 hours each. Before that she was doing the same thing as your son as far as not napping at all during the day. She was extremely fussy and just wanted to nurse literally all the time. I could never put her down.
You may be right about him taking naps if he gets up earlier. I would recommend reading a book called "On Becoming Babywise" by Robert Bucknam and Gary Ezzo. That's the method we used with our daughter and it's been the best thing we ever did for her.

Well Babies sleeping patterns will change throughout them growing My first lil girl had her routine set when she was about 9 months (she is now 2) and it hasn't changed.
My 7 weeks old lil girl also breastfed feeds at 10pm as well and sometimes will sleep till 6am depending on how her day was. At 10 weeks though if your lil guy is tired let him sleep, they are still growing and need there sleep. I don't expect my 7 week old to keep this schedule, since it has changed almost every week haha. But if he does well on your schedule keep to it, But if he gets fussy or doesn't want to stay up then of course let him sleep :)
Good luck and congrats!!
