Weird keyboard problem?

I have a toshiba satellite laptop and my 'a' 'e' and 'v' keys are not working properly. If i press shift (either key) to get the uppercase version of these letters nothing will type. If I use caps lock it works though.

any idea what this could be?

Update:

Nothing was spilled on it. I restarted the computer and they all work. AAAAEEEVVVV I can do it all day long now. I figured it could be a virus but if it wasn't, what else could it be?

Restarts sometimes do clear up mysterious keyboard glitches. Go figure.

    I wouldn't worry about a virus, though.

most common is something got spilled on the keyboard. it is not repairable only replaceable.

one circuit / connection will take out several keys.
