taking a year off college...?

i went straight to a community college after high school. and right now im not doing so well. i had to take multiple classes multiple times. my major is business. yes i want to do business but i have other interest such as fashion and film and photography. i want to explore my options and see what else is out there. than once ive done so, i WILL go back and of course finish my business degree. i just need a break. at least one year to focus on myself and get my head back in the game. because right now i hate to admit but im only in school for the money. my head is not in school right now. too many personal problems one of which is depression. i'm not doing well in college so is taking a year off a benefit to my well being or should i just suck it up and finish what i've started even though my grades arent my best?

taking a year off won't be the best idea because then you're going to get used to it and it will be even harder to get back into it.  you should try to make some changes to what you are currently doing, by changing work habits, perhaps reducing course load, etc.  you can always go into fashion, film and photography even after you get your business degree.  with it, you will at least have a background in something incase you can't get what you want with either fashion, film or photography.

i think you should do it. obviously u have other plans in life and you're tired of business and need to take a break so go for it. you can always go back and finish your degree in business. you're never too young to live your dreams. i myself am in your same situation and i need a break myself. i plan on taking it before i transfer
