What happens if Rep. Weiner resigns?

If he resigns, will there be another election or do the Dems get to appoint someone?

    Their will be a runoff election.no matter though because they are fixing to redistrict his congressional district.they are gonna do away with his district and one more......

    There will be a special election to fill the vacated seat . As the first answer stated NY will lose 2 congressional districts due to the census and that seat could be one of them .
