How do some answer leaders accumulate so many points in such a short period of time.?
About a year ago, I got to wondering about that. I looked up how many months a supposed "point leader" had been a member, then I converted that to the number of days. Then I divided his total number of answers by that number of days. It worked out that he would have had to answer about 150 questions a day, 7 days a week, month after month. Based on the time it takes me to answer a bunch of questions with both long and short answers, that is virtually impossible; it wouldn't even leave any time for eating or sleeping. Also, the number of "best answers" (percentage) he had was simply incredible. (As in "not credible." )
I concluded that, for a person to have done all that, he or she would have to ask a large number of friends to vote "best answer" for almost every answer he gave. That might be easy to do for someone like a popular student. Yes, I'm speaking of collusion, or rigging the vote.
Cheating is not unknown in our schools, and there are some people who will do almost anything in order to achieve some kind of "star" status, no matter what the activity is or the forum for it. I think that there may be some people who have friends ask questions for them, using his or her avatar's name to do so.
Any comments?

I just answered a similar question the other day.
Some of those people have multiple accounts, they ask a question with one then go back and answer with another account, then go back and choose their answer as best answer. Silly I know.... the points don't mean anything, they can't redeem them for anything but still they find some sort of satisfaction out of having a lot of points.
Most times though Yahoo catches up to them and when they do they suspend the account(s), but then those people just create more accounts and play the same game all over again.

While some folks DO cheat here (as in so many other parts of life), not ALL of them do. And it really is quite easy to quickly raise your points, if you focus. When you checked out how many questions had to be answered per day, did you take into account the BA points? Because that would significantly reduce the number of answer needed.
Even if you did take that into consideration, though, 150 answer per day is NOT that hard to do. Many repeat users here have 'pat' answers that take only a few seconds to post. GOOD answers, too, that will get a Best Answer quite often. So posting 150 answers need really only take a few hours, which is easy for somebody that is homebound by disease or handicap, for example. Or somebody that is stuck on a computer all day - but has little work to occupy them.

Actually . . all you need is one or two more yahoo accounts . . and periodically . . you peruse your answers and vote on best answer . . you can vote on yourself and if it's a tie or someone else gets more votes . . you just log in under your other accounts and vote . . actually quite easy . . however . . there's nothing better than the Asker Voting you as best answer . . because that means that you made a connection and were in some way helpful . .
Nothing better than being of some use or help to other people
As far as some folks accumulating so many points in such a short period . . .well . . they obviously have a LOT of TIME on their hands, and probably a few accounts . . nod nod wink wink
Hope i have been of some help . . .cant wait until this goes to vote . . I'm at the ready . .

I have seen the same thing. I have wondered myself how someone can earn in excess of 20,000 points in a single week. Answering is worth two points, voting for your own answer is one point, and then getting the best answer is ten points, for a total of 13 points. That is 220 answers a day minimum.
I can maybe understand 500 best answers in a week, but I do not have that much free time, and i am retired, but 20,000 points in a week is about 2800 points a day. When do they sleep? or eat? or have a life?

It relies upon on the point that they are, i'm on point 7 so I even have infinite answer and vote. If i exploit my on a regular basis quota of votes i can earn a million,4 hundred factors in each and every week, it quite is in the previous I even have even spoke back a question. I even have earned only over a million,000 factors this week and that's thru answering greater questions then vote casting, i don't have multiple money owed- only this one. Neither do I spend all day in this internet site i like to spend 2 - 3 hours an afternoon, unfold around the day, while i'm busy, like this week then it is far less time and much less factors. in spite of the shown fact that there are shoppers in this internet site that are housebound and this internet site is one way for them to spend their time, they're taking section in themselves and passing on their know-how/suggestion. So the consumer you pronounced may be considered one of those persons, or they consistent with possibility retired (like me) and returned it passes it slow once you're in this internet site.

It is done by having more than one account. What happens is this: Use one account to only ask questions. Use the other accounts to answer, but choose just the one account to always provide the best answer.
I really don't understand why someone would want to have such a high 'ranking' within a site where the majority have such a low IQ.

First off, you could gain 100 points a day simply for voting on answers. And i agree, alot of people may use multiple accounts to vote themselves best answer , which isn't right.

ah... even so...
the one I saw had 98% BA and that was rather ridiculous, no one is that smart!
(even Einstein)
but I think I should go vote on some answers to boost up my points.. see ya!
