What percentage of Muslims believe the bits of the Koran attributed to the Torah and Jesus were 'miraculous'?

Just finished reading the Koran (in English) for a comparative religion essay and I'm curious as to how many Muslims actually believe the claim that the many parts of the Koran attributed to the Torah (Old Testament) and the New Testament, were 'miraculous'?

Muhammad obviously spent much time, while traveling with his uncle, hearing the stories of the bible from Christians and Jews, and other Arabs, while trading camels. Every Imam (and even the scholars) claim that because Muhammad was illiterate, he could never have known the biblical stories, thus it was a miracle!! It seems ridiculous that anyone would believe this!

So far, you've gotten one "argument from popularity" and one erroneous statement, completely without foundation, that there are "additional details" that only monks and priests know - which there are not. The person that said that clearly is unable to think clearly enough to think "well, if these "details" weren't in the original stories, then maybe...just maybe...they were MADE UP LATER." But no, she's so deep into her confirmation bias that she can't even see how silly she is for not seeing that.

The fact that people to tend to embroider stories they've heard (as any gossip will show), and that Muhammad was clearly rewriting these often-badly-remembered stories to support his own agenda and the religion he created doesn't seem to have occurred to these folks.

Nothing "miraculous" about it...that's just obvious..

Oh well, I guess that's why I never fell for Islam - I see right through it to the creaky machinery behind it, and it looks even more made up than other religions...and that's saying a lot.

Even I, a fat cat on a curling stone, see through that silly belief system.

In Muhammad's time, most people were illiterate but they were big on oral histories and legends and had memories much more highly attuned to remembering these things than we are today. So if Muhammad heard parts of the Hebrew and Christian testaments, he most likely did remember them. So there is nothing "miraculous" about that.

I have no way of knowing what percentage of Muslims believe those parts were "miraculous", though, I doubt anyone really knows that one.

    Blessings on your Journey!

The Torah encompasses the old testomony. there became no longer something incorrect with this testomony. Israel did no longer follow besides as they have been required. whilst the Jews broke the Covenant (returned), Jesus got here to set it magnificent. He fulfilled "the regulation". And He as quickly as and for all made Gods testomony obtainable to ALL adult adult males. because of the fact the Jews have been meant to have. The Qu'ran made a failed attempt to particularly replica this. yet interior the Koran there is not any love and allah interior the comparable sentence. And no prophesy. this is no longer God's be conscious. The God of Israel is the God of the international. We grow to be "religious" Israelites as quickly as we % to stay with Him. God bless

noooooooooooo. who said he would hear the stories? and anyway the stories in the Koran are much more detailed. and the detail of these stories were only known to like monks and priests. regular Christians and Jews did not know these small details that the Koran mentions. Moses is mentioned in the Koran more than any other prophet. and there are some stories like the story of Noah that were known even to the Jews and Christians.

To be a Muslim means believing in a lot more ridiculous things than that...like how a mass-murderer and a pedophile can be a "holy man".
