Why are you learning VB6? (and not the new DotNet versions.)?

I have noticed a lot of VB6 questions recently which indicate many are starting to learn how to program with Visual BASIC.

Question I have is what is motivating people to use a 1998 version of VB that is no longer supported by Microsoft. Are there teachers in schools who are still teaching VB6 and if so why?

I think it's because they found a bootleg copy and a key to unlock it. At the very least there are prob a ton of copies being sold for practically nothing.

Remember also that VBA is really VB 6 in disguise so learning it isn't a bad thing.

You could argue why are they learning VB at all. It's obvious MS is moving to a C# as their principal language. I think in 10 years VB will be a thing of the past. C# is far more in line with all the other languages available. C++, PHP, Actionscript, Javascript.. etc etc etc
