Saving a Dell Inspiron 1200?

I have a Dell INSPIRON 1200 and am attempting to save it.

I have been told to buy a new computer but that is not an option at the moment.

I know for sure I want to upgrade RAM, PROCESSOR, HARD DRIVE, GRAPHICS CARD, CD-RW/DVD-RW Drive.

Any recommendations as far as parts?

How to approach this mad project?

Thanks.

Update:

Also I plan on fixing the adapter port because it is loose from the last place I took it to get fixed last. I'm not sure how to pt it back in place.

About the ONLY thing you can upgrade on your laptop is ram and hard drive period.

RAM is upgradable as long as you aren't maxed out on what your motherboard can handle. Processor is usually not upgradable because of heat issues in the close confines of a laptop. Hard drive would be upgradable. There is NO graphics card in this laptop. It is integrated (soldered) into the motherboard and cannot be replaced. The optical drive should be able to be replaced

More RAM, bigger HDD, possibly a better optical drive, but that's your lot!☺

If you want to upgrade all of that it's cheaper to build a new custom PC. Seriously.
