It'd depend on what the woman wanted to do/ could afford to do I'd imagine. She might take the time off for the duration of her period, or maybe if she had established clients they might be alright with it... There's also (warning: kind of graphic) a type of menstrual cup which is worn at the top of the vagina which collects the blood which means a couple could have sex without the man even knowing the woman was menstruating. I don't think these are available outside of the US though so that limits that potential answer to America only.

I suspect that is she is full-time, she has to take a break, or tap into the fetish market, like one (rather astute) poster observed.

If she is part time, chances are, she just sits it out and works more hours in her other job.

They probably take Seasonique or something so they only have maybe 4 periods a year.
