Why is my mini schnauzer chewing and losing her fur?

She is 2yo. Vet said fleas, Advantage...no help. For the past several months she has been eating Natural Balance L.I.D. w/no grain...no change. It's just getting worse. Help! before I start pulling my own hair out. Has anyone else had this problem? It is not "schnauzer bumps".

Update:

Her food is duck & potato, no chicken. She doesn't chew on anything else; just her toys & herself. She is NOT losing hair because the vet put Advantage on her, he put it on her BECAUSE she is losing hair. It was a one-time thing. I'm not in the habit of using toxic stuff with her. I have searched all over her; can't find 1 flea.

How can I find out if she's chewing because of anxiety or ?

Update 2:

Also, her skin is clear, smooth, clean...

Could be some kind of parasite problem. Also, maybe allergies. The vet would know.

    CHEWING….

Chewing is a natural action for all dogs –

it’s just a part of the way they are wired.

However, chewing can quickly become a behavior problem if your dog causes destruction.

    The most common reasons dogs

    chew are as follows:

    Puppy Teething

    Boredom / Excess Energy

    Anxiety

    Curiosity (especially puppies)

Encourage your dog to chew on the right things by providing plenty of chew toys.

Keep personal items away from your dog.

When you are not home, keep your dog crated or confined to an area where less destruction can be caused.

If you catch your dog chewing the wrong thing, quickly correct him with a sharp noise.

Then, replace the item with a chew toy.

One of the most important things you can do:

Make sure your dog gets plenty of exercise!

It could be a couple things.

First read the label on the feed bag and see if there is chicken in it. As weird as it sounds my friends pom lost all of its hair and they linked it back to the food, specifically chicken. She was allergic.

    Another option:

Does her skin look or feel dry? If so try washing her in oatmeal shampoo this helps with chewing.

    Also:

Is it possible your neighbors could have sprayed any pesticides?

I dont know how your yard is set up but if she somehow is getting close to their grass then she may be having reactions.

    Lastly:

The vet says fleas but vets, in my opinion, are not the ones to turn to. But just to be safe check the dog look under the armpits and belly you should see them crawling if they are there.

Try looking into those few things and see if any fit.

    good luck
