New Macbook Air rumours?
I've heard that Apple is revamping their Macbook Air, yesterday i decided i wanted a Macbook pro because the Air only has 1 usb port and no cd drive (the only reasons why i changed my mind)..as my laptop of 6 years is brain dead..but now i have no idea! Should I wait for the New Air or just go with the 13-inch Pro?

It really depends on what you are using your computer for. If you are doing a lot of heav duty video and/or audio editing, then just get a MacBook Pro. Also,if you need a lot of hard drive space, the MacBook Air may not be sutable. If you aren't worried about those, consider if having the lighter and smaller form factor would be a big plus. For example,I would get the Air because I bike a lot. Reguarding the USB ports, you can get a splitter if you are really worried about it. If I were you,I'd wait a little befor I decided. (at least wait for OS X Lion to release)

Howdy, let us look at this logically. How often do you actually burn a cd or dvd while you are out and about. Now I have had macs in my possession since 1984, and I don't believe I have ever burned a cd or dvd outside of my home.
I know people actually do play dvds on computers, but really on that screen, keyboard, much nicer on an iPad or something like that.
Anyway
Now I have purchased external cd/dvd burners for years. Mostly because I can purchase for under a hundred dollars the latest burner and it usually has some really nice items that the Mac stock burner doesn't. Also, one day Jobs and blu ray creators will not be feuding and we will have access to blu ray playing and recording on the mac side of the computer. (It may be sooner than most people believe.) Instead of just being able to do it from the Windows side. So right now I have the sweetest cd/dvd/bluray external burner just waiting at home for me right now.
So if you can live without an internal for a bit then you might like the Air, it is light. I do not know when the new Air is due, but I plan on buying it. I think it has great potential. I have oodles of usb sticks, and the Macs can form their own networks that you can share items over if need be. So in reality unless you have to have the internal cd/dvd burner, and you only have firewire items to connect to the computer, the Air should be okay.
As for the 13in Pro, very good computer, I just loaned out my 15in pro to a friend who needed it more than I do or will. Fast, ports up the wazoo, and in some models the thunderbolt which gives you a speed burst, I believe. I have to admit I have not really looked into that addition.
I miss my firewire on my MacBook Classic, but there is probably a usb to firewire thingy I can purchase.
You have a lot to think about, some of which should be easy, depending on when you need the computer, and if you can live without the internal drive or if you are convinced you really need it. Good luck, have fun with what ever you decide on.
