Do you think mamak charge you RM 3.50 for one piece of Ayam Goreng is expensive?
Actually i like eating Fried chicken....but these days i thin the prices of Fried chicken at the mamak store is becoming unbelievably expensive.Worst still,if these mamak has a NASI KANDAR to their names....they seem to be able to get away with it.Do you know KFC a Multinational Franchise that we Malaysians are familiar with,charges only RM 6.++ for two pieces of Fried Chicken?And we are talking about Air conditioned comfort,served by proffesional staff and a proper place to wash your hands,with proper soap.tha effectively brings the price of each of chicken to RM 3.00.If you work it out,when you buy the set,the Fried Chicken,which is the basis of the entire meal,works out to only RM 2.50++?? So why on earth is the Mamak round the corner charging RM 3.50 pr piece and claims that prices are hitting the roof,they are not earning much from that piece of chicken.Definitely he is lying or KFC is running a loss making concern.Share your views here

I agree with most answers except the ones who say you cant afford it,dont eat.thats a plain dumb answer.Lala who claims it is not expensive,perhaps she has been eating at more expensive places.Does she know how much a KG of chicken costs?RM 7-12? So if you are paying like RM 3.50,dont you think you shold get at least a quarter of a chicken?And these Mamaks think they are the kings.They just charge whatever,and people just easily absorb them.Of ourse again its the stupidity of Malaysians to do things without complaining.Government says increase price of Sugar and give some dumb *** answers,costs going up,their citizens ah..ok..increase then..cant be helped.in other countries,once there is any increase to ay products at all,there will be strikes.

KFC is a very big chain, so can obtain their raw materials cheaper at bulk prices. The mamak outlet is only one shop so obtain the raw chicken at a higher price. Many will not agree, but Mamak fried chichen tastes better than KFC, whose chicken is too soft, and injected with water....and is not value for money. KFC is also considered as fast food, while mamak fried chicken is "real " !

Herohua my friend What i can say is this mamak store is charging at an unreasonable price , but anyway where is this store located at , is it in KL , if in KL the cost of livin gis much higher lah , but is still consider costly for Rm3.50 one ayam goreng, but frankly speaking i find out the food prices in mamak store alos not chep one oh nowadays, and somemore the kedai makanan keep on increasing the price of the food due to the rise of the electrical tariff in my town lah .my friend ,i think u better boycott this shop and let it close down by itself .or report it to the consumer association group.

its quite cheap.
I live in ss12, subang jaya. Theres a mamak stall infront of my house. They sell a piece of chicken for rm 4.50 last year and this year rm 5. For meat curry, 1 scoop is rm 5.80. It is a standard price i think. Anyplace around here sell fried chicken around that price. So i dont think rm 3.50 is expensive.

Depends on the quality. What I find disturbing is that I've noticed that the quality appears to deteriorate fast in KL. I'd rather pay more for a decent piece of ayam then cheap ayam with nasty taste and pieces in it.

Don't buy there anymore.
You could just go with KFC next time.
Or...
Why not make your own fried chicken?
You can put all sorts of herbs and spices and it does come out nicely...
Edit:
@Jimmy
But...but but...dried chicken is not exactly nice.
