help!! Thailand visa!! 6 weeks...?

Ill be travelling to Thailand at the end of July and returning after 6 weeks. I know that for 30 days, you DONT need a visa, but after 30 you do. But for me, the problem is that I WONT be spending those entire 6 weeks in Thailand. Ill be staying there for only 2 weeks and from there travel to different countries and when I fly back, I depart from Thailand again.

Do I still need a visa? or Do I only have to show my other flights to the different countries to prove I wont be staying over 30 days there in Thailand even though my return flight is in 6 weeks???

HELP!!!

You have nothing to worry about if you plan well. If you are visa exempt like you say (based on your citizenship) you are visa exempt for a period of 30 days if you arrive by air and 15 days if you arrive at one of Thailand's border crossings. You can leave Thailand and come back as long as you don't stay more than 90 days in Thailand over a 6 month period. Just plan well and remember the rule about 30/15 days visa exempt status. Also as long as you have a return ticket it doesn't matter how long you stay in Asia. In most cases no one will even check that except sometimes the airlines when you first check-in..

If you qualify for the first 30 day Visa Exemption stamp in your passport I don't see any problem getting another free 30 day Visa Exemption stamp. It is not like you will be doing this for the entire year.

But keep in mind that you only get the free 30 day Visa Exemption when you FLY in!

Just plan so that when you leave your next country your time in Thailand is covered by the free 30 days. Millions of tourists do this all the time. You already have your proof of onward flights anyway.

    You shouldn't have a problem.

I don't believe that an airline will let you fly to Thailand without a return ticket or onward travel documnets. You won't have a problem with the ticket you have from Cambodia to Thailand. The Thai customs won't care. I would double check with your travel agency who sold you a one way ticket because that may be a problem. It all depends of course on the Immigration officer at the border. If you do have a one way ticket, it would be in your best interest to double check because you may not be allowed to board the plane.

From what I read, Thailand is easy for tourists, you just get another 30 day visa each time you enter

    http://www.travellerspoint.com/forum.cfm?thread=19...

    From Travel Agent Database

National USA (US) /Residence Italy (IT)

Embarkation Italy (IT) /Destination Thailand (TH)

    Passport required.

    - Nationals of USA can enter on passports or passport

replacing documents valid for the period of intended stay.

Visa required, except for A touristic stay of max. 30 days:

    Additional Information:

    - Visitors who are visa exempt are required to hold documents

    for their next destination.
