Are God's hands really tied with this "evil" thing?

Really? When he created Satan and humanity, he wasn't thinking ahead?

When a perfect being creates something so imperfect, can he really be considered a perfect being?

He's supposed to be infinity steps ahead, but he got really disappointed in humanity and decided to drown everyone except Noah and a few other people.

He got so upset with Adam and Eve that he cursed all of humanity. How can a perfect being not see that coming? How does he get his feelings so hurt that he has to take it out on everyone who will ever exist?

Why doesn't God take responsibility for evil? He should've known that it was going to happen. He knows if I'll end up in heaven or hell, supposedly. Why did he create me? Just so I could be tortured for using my intelligence to decide what to believe, instead of blindly following a very flawed set of beliefs?

What kind of "loving" God would do something like that? It just sounds cruel to me.

And he can't fix it now? Its too late? The damage has been done? Um... excuse me, but can't God do ANYTHING he wants? Are his hands really tied over this? He can wipe the slate clean. He's God. Why doesn't he fix it?

He could've started things differently and ended up with a different result. God knew I'd be an atheist before I was created, right? He knew Satan would pollute humanity with evil. But he went ahead and did it anyway. If you believe in him, you should ask him why he did that. See if he comes back to you with anything.

Update:

seeker:

If you were born in Iran, you'd be a muslim right now. If you were born in China, you'd probably be a non-practicing buddhist.

You've made up your mind that the bible is true and that God is for real, but you've never really thought about it for yourself because you're brainwashed. Do yourself a favor and try reading the bible. Ask yourself why God would command Saul to kill infants in 2 Cor. 15... can you see God's point in justifying genocide? The destruction of a race?

If you think genocide is ok, then you have a mental illness.

God made an infinite number of angels to be His "helpers" in a place we now refer to as Heaven. Heaven is a place outside our time domain. Angels have rank with the highest being archangel and down through cherubs and ordinary angels (like foot solders). Lucifer meaning the light was the highest ranking and most beautiful archangel God ever made. Lucifer became prideful because of his rank and beauty. He thought he could be like God and replace Him. One third of the angels (how many is 1/3 of infinite?) backed Lucifer in his quest to take over Heaven.

God removed (angels cannot be killed or destroyed) Lucifer and his followers from Heaven but had no place to put them. So God made a place to put Lucifer and his followers. A place separate from Heaven but where God could observe them. For some reason God decided to destroy this place He had placed Lucifer and his followers. God then flooded this place with water and because Lucifer meaning "light" also removed all light from this place. After a period of time (who knows how long of time) God decided to reestablish this place for another use. Lucifer and his followers were still there; remember they cannot be killed or destroyed. God separated the waters from the land and for the next 6 days recreated the earth we live on today. This is basically what is known of as the "Gap Theory" taking place between Genesis 1:1 and Genesis 1:2. The Gap theory is hinted at several times in the Old Testament.

God during His remaking of the earth made all the trees and animals, the light and later the sun and moon. God then decided to make Man to be over all the earth and animals. So God took clay and formed man and placed him in the Garden of Eden. This man was named Adam (the 1st Christ) then formed Eve from one of Adam's ribs. This whole episode is explained in Genesis 1:2 through Genesis 2:25.

God made covenants with Adam and with Eve and gave them free will with only one commandment; Not to eat of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. Here enters the Serpent a.k.a. Lucifer who became Satan or the Devil. The serpent twisted God's commandment of not eating of the "tree" telling Eve they would surely not die. Eve then ate and gave some to Adam and he also chose to eat. They of course did not physically die but they died spiritually. Their eyes had been opened to see all the terrible things of the future and of the hold Satan (Lucifer) gained on the earth. Genesis 3. Adam turned the vows God made with him over to Lucifer now Satan or the Devil. Because God will never dishonour a vow made God could have destroyed the earth right then but because of the vows made with Adam God could not destroy the earth as He had done before. Thus we have the world we have today with all the problems in it.

The Bible was as many have said "written by man"; what they do not admit or say is, "as inspired by God from outside our time domain." We no longer have the original manuscripts but only copies of copies transcribed by ill trained scribes. They accidentally or purposefully changed or added or removed words from these copies. At some point in our history these many hundreds even thousands of manuscripts and letters were gathered together and selected to form what we know today as the 66 books of the Bible. The Bible is not without error it has a number of errors because of the various manuscripts used and because of the political pressures and ill training of the scribes over the thousands of years it was copied and recopied.

I do not have the time or space here to explain it fully but hopefully this will give some insight as to why, according to the Bible, things are as they are today. The Bible as a whole is good and good to live by IF you can research it from many places and understand the implications of the words and phrases used and why. this has caused problems for several thousand years. Then add to this the fact the "church" itself has made their own laws to govern and control its followers often in direct opposition to the Bible. Most of what nonbelievers know of the Bible are from these "church laws" and not the Bible. Laws written to make people feel guilty and pay into the coffers of their church to help remove their guilty feelings. The Bible is really a book of freedoms not restrictions as the Church wants their people to believe.

    Noah's ark. Isn't it fun?

In my opinion, Noah's ark was dinosaur. Not a ship.

Ark of Noah is a medium through which data of the gene is transferred.

Genesis 6:19 You are to bring into the ark two of all living creatures, male and female, to keep them alive with you.

Evolution of species doesn't have a linear time till mankind open eyes.

Genesis 9:13 I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth.

Pitch / Bitumen / Crude oil / Where could we find them, today? It's fun, too.

Genesis 6:14 So make yourself an ark of cypress wood; make rooms in it and coat it with pitch inside and out.

Today's annual rhythms begins "From Genesis 9:13". (This is my assumption.)

Today's light speed begins from Genesis 9:13, too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yq98MskQ6rc

    Anyway...

People can make an answer but there is no a reason. (This is your so-called free will.)

God can make a reason but there is no an answer. (This is your so-called destiny & chance.)

Sometimes I say, newton's apple is more clever than newton.

Yes, God could've done things differently, but He did not. Instead of asking these negative questions, why not ask yourself why God did do things this way. I can see that you're a "half-empty" kind of person, but rather than always looking at the down side of God's work, why not allow yourself to look at the up side? If humans did not have the ability to choose to disobey, they really would not have the choice to obey either. We would be robots, automatons. We would experience no pain, true, but neither would we be blessed by helping one another. We would experience no frustrations and disappointments, yes, but adversity builds character. We learn more from making mistakes than by getting things right all the time. Look on the bright side once in a while.

the bible is an allegorical tale and is not the history of the Jews as such since it has been adapted and adopted from other cultures and the Jews as such are from the outcasts of India itself long ago who came west via Babylon/Chaldea the name satan is Hittite in origin and there is no person by that name. Adam and Eve are just a reference to age old incarnation of man on earth and were seven Races of men the evil mentioned relates to the time when earliest man was an idiot as such and had sex with grotesque she animals hence they sinned but that was so long ago now were are in the fifth root race and halfway through our evolution.good and bad are merely challenges as such.

Amen and Om Shantih and Sai Ram.

We don't know all that God can do. Probably infinitely more than is recorded in the Bible. But God has, as far as we know, limited himself to the environment of the universe and this earth where humanity is.

He has limited himself by giving humanity the freedom to chose for or against him. And he has allowed opposition in the form of satan to make things alittle more interesting.

Anything else would just be too easy, and probably too boring. Since there are so many challenges in life it looks to me like God likes challenges.. And made humanity in his own image so that we could be like him on some level.

And he's presented himself to humanity to help whenever anyone wants it.

    Let the games begin.

Well we have to look at both sides before we can decide, as it is a tug-of-war.

First we have the Unbelievers=Uns, against the Believers=Bel.

Uns, say why does God allow all this evil in the world?

    Bel, answers 'Free will'

Uns, say why did God Create evil?

Bel, Only man can Create evil as he has free will.

Uns, say Then why did he not make a world of only Good?

Bel, Then we would never know Good without knowing evil.

Uns, But our world is in turmoil

Bel, answer we must know evil to know good.

Uns, But why does he let so many people die each day?

Bel, answer Only man can change this, as he must learn good and evil, and learn to live in good, but know evil.

All of nature groans to see the birth of God's sons, be still, watch, and listen, all of nature tells the same story as the written record we call the Bible. God made everything, man in his image or opposite, so if God is love, man is full of fear and wonder, no love. Jesus came to announce the Kingdom of God is at hand, and he said it is within us all.

You will do well not to take me at my word, but search for yourself, not through another man's eyes.

god is not responsible for evil any more than your parents would be responsible for the evil you may do

your view of god and his motives are off base

to give you the chance to choose to end up in heaven

the beliefs are not flawed they came from god

mans intelligence how ever is flawed by sin and its effects

he is fixing it on a long term plan

so you think you know god's mind and what he should do?

ah i don't think you are using your intelligence if you think you can tell god how he should have done things.

you've post many Qs which show that you're really in the dark ... w/o knowledge.

yet with so many unanswered Qs, you CONCLUDE that God 'sounds cruel to me.'

' If you believe in him, you should ask him why he did that. See if he comes back to you with anything.'

actually, i've studied the bible and asked all i need to ask. Should i come back to you with all the answers ? nah .. i doubt your little twitty mind could absorb all that mysteries.
