I want to sell food have made cooked in or with alcohol: do I need a license (UK)?

For instance... rum cake, sherry trifle, orange and whisky marmalade

    As it stands you do not need the license.

    This is a bit tricky, you may need to see your local food inspector for the answer, in trifles, the alcohol isn't going to be cooked, marmalade, and rum cake shouldn't be any problem though, just in case there is a complaint, good luck

    As most of the alcohol cooks out, I am fairly sure you don't need a license to sell it. Unless you are using the alcohol for its intoxicating effects and not the enhanced flavor, then i think it would be different.

    I am sure that Nick is right. The licence to sell "intoxicating liquors" is just that. Food that has been prepared using beer, wine or spirits is not even intoxicating, let alone an intoxicating liquor.
