what's hereford like?

im looking at travelodge for their sale prices and i've chosen 2 places at £15. the first is shrewsbury which i've been to before. we had our dog from the dogs trust at roden and although i've only been twice to the town for a look around i thought it was quite a nice place.

the second choice is hereford. now i've never been anywhere near here before. the hotel is 0.2 miles from town centre. what is there in town, is it quite big or small. what else is there to do outside of hereford.

i'm only going to stay for the 1 night with my boyfriend but as i dont really know whats there i cant decide which to choose. he doesnt know it'll be a surprise, i want it to be a nice one though

I go to the Sixth Form College in Hereford and walk through the town everyday. There are quite a few shops, New Look, DP, M&S, Treds, Accessorise, Monsoon, Primark, Waterstones, WHSmith etc (no RiverIsland any more because it burnt down!) . There are lots of little cafes and places to sit and eat, as well as Costa Coffee and Starbucks. We have a bus and railway station. Hereford is nice for a visit and cup of tea with a scone, but it's only a small town. Quite pleasant apart, with nice people, apart from the local religious man who shouts out stuff about the world ending on thursdays at around 1pm ha ha!

Hereford is a medium size town with a famous cathedral. It has all the usual urban facilities - shopping centres, railway station, pubs, restaurants, a few historic streets with beautiful architecture. It is the main commercial centre for most of Herefordshire, a beautiful rural area, so also has a regular cattle market
