My eyes burn, and it's hard to figure out exactly what causes it.?

Lately my eyes have been burning for no apparent reason, and this happens throughout the day. The changes I feel may be responsible for it are:

New job; I have a commute that forces me to walk from bus to bus in the sun for extended periods of time to get home, not to mention I sit in front of a computer for extended periods of time at work.

It's summer; may have something to do with allergies I didn't know I had.

There are no coupled symptoms with it, just the burning eyes. It's very light, but still noticable.

As you say a lot of changes here. Try using polarized sunglasses not transitions on the bus and for the walk. they cut down the glare a lot more and get them as dark as possible. Computer screens tend to dry the eyes. Make sure you drink lots of water - not tea and coffee which tends to make matters worse. If you are dehydrated your eyes dry as well. Adjust your computer screen properly - put details on this in many times to answers. Get a break from the screen at midday. Ease off your computer usage outside work. Look at anything in the office which may have an effect. Sitting beneath an air conditioning outlet for example is diablolical on the eyes. New office furniture can be a problem as well. Anyone wearing perfume close to you? I find perfume affects my eyes particularly in summer. After that you are searcihng for possible allergies.

    I agree, use sunglasses.

If you are at your computer for long periods of time, optometrists recommend following the "20-20-20" rule -- for every 20 minutes spent focusing on your computer screen, spend 20 seconds focusing on something else 20 feet away.

Try getting more sleep, perhaps because of your new schedule you're not getting enough rest.

    Maybe it is allergies.

Hopefully it doesn't get worse. :)
