Doesn't this just make you lose all faith in society?

On Facebook, the RIP page of a guy who shoved toy cars up his *** for a living and died in a car crash 'allegedly' involving alcohol and excessive speed has got 500 times more likes than the RIP page for one of the greatest musicians of all time who died of a stroke...

Don't get me wrong, both are absolute tragedies, I just can't understand it at all.

Update:

To clarify, the people in question are Ryan Dunn from Jackass and Clarence Clemons, Bruce Springsteen's saxophonist.

Update 2:

At no point did I make reference to how good a person they were. My point is how much they have given to society. I'm sure they were both wonderful people, and as I said, I think both deaths are absolute tragedies. However, one of these men was an incredible musician, who played infront of millions of people worldwide. The other arsed about with his mates and made a few film about it. It doesn't take a genius to see who gave more to society, and society responds by showing significantly more respect to the lesser of the two.

Just because you perceive Ryan Dunn as a guy who "guy who shoved toy cars up his *** for a living" does not discard his popularity and importance to others. The bottom line is Facebook is mainly populated by teens who grew up watching Ryan Dunn, and Clarence Clemons is a person of importance from the past who serves to a smaller demographic of Facebook members. The only thing that makes me lose faith in society is the mass of stupid questions such as these.

PS. Clarence Clemons being the "one of the greatest musicians of all time" is a very subjective stretch..

Yeah... humans are weird. But there's not much you can do about it. Then again that kind of death is almost poetic. I can see why people would find it funny, it a morbid way. I think it's morbid to "like" a page about someone's death.

Edit: Sorry, I misunderstood. Didn't read it as a 'rest in peace' page. But then again, that's probably the same mistake the other people made with the car guy. They just read what he did for a living and proceeded to laugh, so they 'liked' it.

Edit edit: Oh. Well then nevermind. It's the lowest common denominator being the lowest common denominator. They outrank the intelligent and well-bred 10 to 1. So yes, you do lose faith in society when society is a majority of fools. Why have faith in fools in the first place?

I know what you mean, but I think it says more about facebook than it does about society. It's been taken over by morons
