What should I do to ease the pain of my dog's UTI?

I have called the vet, and they said I have to wait for tomorrow but I can tell the poor thing is suffering and i wanna help her out a bit. She doesn't drink water (i understand why, more in, more out) But she kindof has to...

Update:

The reason i think its uti, is because there is blood in her urine, and she always needs to go, there was a lightning storm yesterday and she got a bit scared so we wouldn't of noticed

When you go to the vets tomorrow ensure that you take a urine sample in a sterile container. It will short circuit you having to go out and get one and therefore, some time.

Good Luck because a UTI is very painful (Been there, burnt the T shirt!)

You do need to see a vet because although blood in her urine could be a 'simple' thing like cystitis which should respond quickly to antibiotics, it could also be she has bladder stones. When she pees, does she ever do a good flow? If not (and cystitis will cause residual dripping but there should be a flow to begin with), it could be she has formed stones, and if she blocks up, this is an emergency. Although she'll not be feeling well, any pain should only be when she passes urine, with cystitis.

Oh sweetie, i'm so sorry! dropping a furchild is so annoying for all in touch. we've long handed by this with extra beneficial than one cherished puppy and it continually tears at my coronary heart. that's the cost we pay for accepting the unconditional love that they provide us so freely. i'm specific you have study the poem appropriate to the Rainbow Bridge, take convenience that your infant is waiting for you there. My secular factor taunts at this concept, yet my coronary heart and soul have self assurance. you probably did what replaced into impressive for the single which you love, fairly than the egocentric factor of coming up him go through by retaining him in this airplane of existance and close to you. You proved your love by letting him bypass. Forgive your self. I say this as individual who has had to make that dreadful determination 4 circumstances, and no count that it replaced into the magnificent factor, the final factor, the humane factor to do in each case, it nevertheless haunts me. The link under is a seek on the bridge, most of the web pages indexed all have communities for dealing with puppy loss and grief. you ought to talk over with others and share concepts. merely as love shared is love larger, grief shared is grief dwindled. it is not in any respect hardship-free to be the survivor, even in spite of the undeniable fact that it does get extra beneficial. Phone the vet back and ask specifically about this. In the meantime, you can make sure she has a soft and warm place to lay, pet her a lot, and tell her what a good dog she is. Most of us like a little extra attention when we don't feel good, including dogs.

Not much you can do without something from your vet. Are you sure it's a UTI? Usually dogs drink more when they have a UTI, not less.

You can try 1/4 tsp of Apple Cider Vinegar via syringe once a day for three days.be sure the dog eats before taking it.

Source(s): dog owner dealt with UTI's many times in my dog....with vet meds and using Apple Cider Vinegar with no side effects & very effective
