My son would like to be a paramedic some day and I wondered what certifications he would need.?

Also, if my Son got 3.0 or 4.0 grading average in high school could he skip the basic years of college and go straight to medical school?

To be a Paramedic in Texas you do not need college and the whole process will take well under a year. All your son will need is a high school diploma to get started in the first level which is EMT-Basic.

    Examples:

This program has a certificate program with only takes a few months. And, he'll start at the EMT-Basic level.

Medical school to be a doctor is over 12 years of education. He would first need to get good grades for the first 4 years of college in order to get accepted to Medical school which is another 4 years. After that would be at least 3 years in a residency program and more if he wanted to specialize.

The high school grades will help him get into a decent college for the first four years and may help him get a couple of scholarships for expenses.
