CMOS battery soldered to motherboard?

I have a Dell Inspiron 2500 and when I tried turning it on it asked for the BIOS password, which I never set. I looked online on how to reset it and it said that the CMOS battery could be dying or dead and should be replaced.

I found the CMOS battery (labeled BATT1) under the motherboard but it's soldered onto it. Is there a way I can replace it for my laptop to work?

Update:

I am not sure this is the CMOS battery but I can't find anything else that looks like a battery on the motherboard, plus it says "BATT1" next to it. It is not in a case that holds it, there are two tabs on both sides that are either soldered or glued to the battery. I tried taking it off, but there was no use.

I've seen soldered batteries in the past but usually they are rechargeable types. Off the top of my head I don't recall seeing any soldered in lithium coin cells in computer gear, but that is not to say they've never been used. Certainly lithium cells with PCB solder tags are readily available. Has this computer been left for a long period without being used much? If so you may want to try leaving it running for perhaps 24 hours and see if the battery recharges.

If no luck, desolder it and replace it with a new one. If you don't feel comfortable doing that yourself take it to a PC repair shop who'll do it for you. Soldering is not some exotic process that can only be done in multimillion dollar factories.

    How To Reset Cmos Battery

actually some batteries are soldered in. They are very easy to desolder and replace usually with two or three solder points. Use some solder sucker or solder braid to remove the old solder after you heat it up. DO this many many times until the battery comes off with little effort. Don't try to rip it off.

then making sure your replacement battery is an exact match, solder it in. Use some flux to make sure the solder fills in correctly.

Look carefully, the battery is not soldered, it just is fixed between two or three angles which can be bended to remove the battery.

CMOS battery will not be soldiered. Only the casing of the battery will be soldiered. Contact the supplier.

actually the password is the default password set i happen to know that the password should be password and then you can turn off the password so you don't need to worry about the battery.
