Memory Loss - what caused yours?

Update:

I was in a car accident - lost short term memory for daily functioning for about 7 years following that date.

    Brain surgery. I had a portion of my left temporal lobe removed. Fore right handers your left temporal lobe is where your short term memory is at.

    Most of the time I have a hard time remembering things from my past or things that recently happened, and other times when something occurs I can sometimes get what I call a brain flash where I all of a sudden I remember an occasion from my past.

    I had a heart attack in 2008 and for some reason I have no short-term memory now.
