What design should I paint on my bass?

I'll probably be getting a black upright bass soon, and I want to paint some sort of design on it, but I don't have a clue what to do. I'm a big fan of rockabilly and psychobilly, so I want to do something in either style. I want to avoid some of the cliches of the genre, though. Flames, skulls, dice, cars, etc. Obviously, one of these types of things needs to be present to still be rockabilly. So really, what variations on popular themes do you suggest to keep my bass looking a little more original?
