Horse breeds in Arizona?

I have a friend who lives in Arizona and she's asked me to ask a question about which horse breed would be good to consider if you're in Arizona. She's been looking at a draft/TB cross but she's concerned about the heat...

(I don't know anything about it, I live in England where it's raining all the time... O.o )

Arabians would do well in the heat as they originate from the desert originally. Because of their mass, I'm not sure how well a draft horse would do. Thoroughobred horses are also very hot blooded and would overheat quickly. Obviously if your friend has the resources, ie: air conditioned stable, she could have any type of horse she wanted. In this case, however, I would discourage it.

How about a Throughbred, Arabian, or Andulasian?
