Is the Xbox 360 Slim worth the upgrade? Please Read?

Reason I am asking is that I am getting the Gears of War 3 Xbox 360 320gb HDD that comes out in September. I have a 2 year old Xbox 360 Elite 120gb HDD that works just fine and the only thing I've had wrong with it is that it got the E74 message 3 weeks after I got it and when I stand it up the disc trap doesn't open, it only opens laying down. Which I prefer laying it down anyway. I know the Slim is Kinect ready (already own), the Xbox is whisper quiet, it has a heat sensor that shuts off the xbox if it gets too hot. It doesnt get the RROD. Are there any other things that I am missing. I'm mostly getting the upgrade for the Collectors Xbox 360 Gears Edition and for the bigger HDD to install my games to.

Much Appreciated.

Yes the upgrade is worth it.

My reasons for upgrading are pretty much what you said in your question. The upgrade ISN'T 100% necessary though, the xbox 360 elite still performs amazingly. In your case I think it is somewhat necessary because of the problems with your xbox 360 elite.

I own a slim and I love it

I would stick with the console you have as long as it is still functioning and able to play. Although Microsoft boldly stated that the slim console cannot get the "Red Ring Of Death", that is because they removed the red lights from the ring. The slim is now already developing a problem dubbed the "Red Dot Of Death", which is a single red dot in the middle of the power button at failure. While many Xbox fans claim it is not a problem on the scale of RROD on the phat models, Microsoft's track record should make everyone a bit wary, especially since there are already reports of MS refusing to accept some of these consoles for repair. I would wait and see what happens with time.

the 2009 (elite) has purely a 20 probability of the getting the pink ring of lack of life and slender purely has a 10 % probability of having the pink ring of lack of life the slender is amazingly quiet ( in simple terms 5x extra the the elite ) the slender is smaller then the elite also for kinect the slender i imagine might want to connects wirelessly to the kinect i imagine there's a large false impression nicely ok!!!! inspite of the slender you elect a router to attach with xbox stay!!!! yet you dont choose the purchase a n networking adapter ( or a etherent cable ) i'd follow the elite and get kinect and a n networking adapter then interior the three hundred and sixty 5 days 1212-1215 is the three hundred and sixty 5 days human beings imagine the XBOX 720 will come out

If you already have an Xbox, I wouldn't suggest getting the Slim unless you get Red Ring, or you just plain out can't stand the noise. For those people that don't have an Xbox. If you are looking at buying a used old style Xbox vs the new Slim, go for the slim. But as for you, I'd stick with your Elite unless noise bothers you.

Overall, I think xbox 360 is a great product. Microsoft really got it right.

It's small, relatively quiet, minimal, and sleek. Games are as great as the old XBOXes, and if you choose to get Kinect with it, that's great as well. It's relatively inexpensive, considering the hardware involved. 4GB is a little skimpy, but you should find it enough; after all, you can always add some USB flash drives or even hard drives to expand your storage.

I have it. It's good if you have wireless so you could move it anywhere in your house. If you're willing to spend the money then go ahead. It shouldn't disappoint you.
