Any advice when starting youtube videos?

Hello, My brother and I have done a lot of funny parody skits before, and we want to now post them on youtube... Do you have any suggestions to what the audience is looking for, and how to engage them into our videos, wanting more?

Believe it or not, if you want to get even a little popular, you're going to need to post high quality videos with pretty good editing skills. I used to want to make videos too back in 2010, but I gave up because I didn't have the right equipment or ideas.

It used to be easy to become famous on youtube back in 2005-2008, but nowadays it is almost impossible to get noticed, unless someone big gives you a shoutout, or you keep sending your channel and your videos to other youtubers.

The audience doesn't want any children ages (10-15) because people that age seem to be more immature and have cheezier ideas. I learned that the hard way... lol.

You will get a lot of hate if you are between those ages aswell because many people out there like to see adults or professionals.

It sucks, but that's the whole truth of youtube. I don't mean to discourage, but if you do start making videos you'll need to spam them to everyone and make the title something catchy. Your videos would need to be actually funny or cool or interesting, and not cheezy. You need to have an HD camera with a tri-pod (less shaky) and a decent editing software/ editing skills.

    But anyways, GOOD LUCK!! :)

To get comments, you need views.

    To get views you need:

    a) Good content.

    And/or:

    b) Good 'tag' words. The more the better (Youtube dose have an upper limit on the number though).

    c) A good network of friends and subscribers.

    d) Getting 'Likes'.

    e) Don't forget to 'Share' your video's and 'Post a Bulletin' to your friends.

So, good content is the hard one. There are no rules, but try to be original, or stick to a theme, or both. Here's an example. Have a look at this:

    http://www.youtube.com/user/EbensR4Real

The trick is to engage your viewer from the start, and keep them watching till the end. Hard to get your video 'Liked', if it's not watched in total.

Tagging your video with as many of the right words is very important. People find your video's with these 'Tags'. Use many tags.

Make freinds. Reach out to other simalar chanels, and [Add Friend]. Offer Sub4Sub to increase your subscribers.

Double check your editing (smooth transitions, clean/even audio, ECT) before uploading. Sloppy editing on your videos, effect your chances of getting 'Likes'. Remember too 'Like' your own video (people in your network will see this, and be only one click away from watching your video).

    After uploading:

Use the 'Share' button, to put your video's on FaceBook/Twitter/MySpace/ETC.

Subscribers automaticly get sent your new video. Friends don't. On your channel, use the [Post Bulletin] to send your video to all your friends.

    Also:

If you visit random pages and comment. People will see your avatar (one click, and there at your page), and have a link to you. Becareful of spamming. Some people get very upset.

    Hope this helps
