Sims 3 video problem?

So I'm trying to install Sims 3 on my friend's laptop but we're having a problem. Everything has been completely installed and when we try to play it we get an error that says:
"Unable to start game
Device0 cannot run this title.
No supported video card detected. Please check your system hardware."

I know this is supposed to mean "Hey, you can't play this since you can't install a new video card on a laptop" but he got this laptop as Windows Vista but upgraded to Windows 7 and I think that may have done something to where it cannot be detected. If not, is there anyway that I can change the graphics of the game or make it so we can play the game on his laptop?

The error means that the game cannot find a graphics display device in your computer. Even if your laptop doesnt have a separate graphics card (and instead has an integrated Intel/ATI one), it should still work, albeit somewhat slow.

Press the windows key + R, then type devmgmt.msc in the Run... dialog.
This will open a window that shows your computer devices. If there are some with a question mark icon, you will probably gonna have to install your graphics driver before you can play.

Haha..i'm the comparable as you whilst i offered C&C RA3, the terrific thank you to do is deliver your cpu to a pc save and tell them you desire to purchase a sparkling video/photos card then whilst they ask what video card you desire, tell them some thing that may play the Sims 3 probably an nVidia 6 or 7 sequence is robust yet something larger than that video card is larger. additionally, in case you probably did which you will understand some info approximately laptop specs w/c is an surprising help whilst finding at a (insert game's call right here) gadget standards. good success. playstation : Sorry for my English Grammar. xp
