Where to put tattoo? 3 word phrase...?
Hi all,
So I planned on getting a tattoo on the right side of my left ring finger (where a wedding ring goes), it's going to say 'born this way' mainly because Lady Gaga taught me that this is who I am, and I need to love myself because I was 'born this way.' I want it on my ring finger because that's where the wedding ring goes and a wedding ring is a profession of love, and through Born This Way I learned to love myself....sorry for the long and possibly repetitive explanation, I just want you all to try and understand what the record and Lady Gaga have done, how much they have really helped me, how dark of a place they pulled me from.
BUT, I've had it sharpied there for a week now, and I'm like, IT'S NOT BIG ENOUGH! What if I put it along the top of my ribs, right under the breast? I really like having it on my ring finger from what I say above, but as long as I have it with me forever, I guess it doesn't really matter.
SO, my questions for both places consist of what kind of pain will there be (I have an above average pain tolerance I'd say), how quickly will it fade (will it), what kind of cost am I looking at, and which location do you like best?
Thank you!!!
And haters, y'all can hate, just not here. AND my decision is not automatically what is said on here, I am not that stupid.

I love your idea, and reason behind it!! :) ♥
However, it is true that tattoos do fade much faster when done on your hands, fingers, and feet. This is because people tend to sweat more in those places.
I would suggest:
- Under your breast
- Curving over the arch of your hipbone.
- On your wrist (depending on your career goal. Visable tattoos can cause you to be rejected for a really good job in the future)
- On the back of your neck
- Behind your ear
- On your lower back, but over to the side. Like where Lindsay Lohan has hers.
- On the inside of your bicep
Every place on your body will hurt differently. It depends on which placement you choose. Some will hurt like hell and some will be a breeze. But no matter where you get it, it won't be anything unbearable. The pain is only temporary. But you'll have something meaningful to look at everyday for the rest of your life, and you will have mostly forgotten the pain you had to go through to get it :)
Most tattoos tend to keep their color rather well. None of mine have faded, and I have 10. They will fade with time, though. But that usually doesn't happen till several years down the road.
Cost, well that depends. Depends on how big you want it, if you want color in your tattoo, how much detail, if you want any other design in your tattoo (ie. stars, roses, ect.). Some places even charge by the hour. So it all depends. You will have to show the design to the artist, or have them draw one up for you, and they can give you a rough estimate. But that's really only if they have a full understanding of exactly what you want in your tattoo.
Good luck, girl.! ♥

Shy away from having tats outside of "collar lines." That includes your hands. There are lots of haters out there, some of whom you might want to work for someday. I've got tats all over, but you'd never know it when I'm in business attire. It's even harder for females.
That said, you've put some thought into this, its meaningful for you at this point in your life, and it will forever remind you of where you've been and where you want to be. I say hell yeah. Be sure to put it somewhere where you'll be able to see it yourself, ie don't put it on your back. Might I suggest a tribal armband, with the words intertwined somehow?
As far as the ribline, please read here for more info on tats along the ribline: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Av98w...
If you're just doing lettering, it won't fade much at all. If you do something more complicated, then it will depend on who does it, the inks and technique they use, etc so go find a good shop. I've got a couple of tats that are plenty old and haven't faded one bit. I wear sunscreen.....
Cost? Just for lettering it shouldn't be more than 100 bucks. For an armband with tribal patterns, I'd say 150-175. It also depends on color; if you add color, cost goes up.
Btw, after I saw her HBO special-- which f'n rocked!!-- I asked my gf for that CD for my birthday. (Guilty pleasure, I'm more of a Slayer fan.)

Not being a hater but I wouldn't get a tattoo of that. I would wait a few months...even a year to see if you are still in love with the idea of getting born this way permanently placed on your body.
If you still are then I would say go for it on any part of your body that you choose. Just be sure its what you really want.

I love your reason for getting this tattoo !
I personally wouldn't get it on my ring finger, i would suggest to get it under your breast.
My favorite locations would be under the breast, or the front shoulder ( if that makes sense ) it would be a little above the chest close to the collar bone and lastly the wrist.
i think a cute little "born this way" would look very cute there. :)

Much prefer the second location idea Vompared to the finger. It will be covered one day when you get married? Also, ink fades a LOT quicker on feet and fingers so I wouldn't go there. It will hold up much nicer under your boob.
