Hi Sarah, seems you are still having back problems! My prayers are with you my friend across the sea. I found info on your medicine...the etoricoxib is another name for:
:Arcoxia Etoricoxib) tablets contain the active ingredient etoricoxib, which is a type of medicine known as a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID).
NSAIDs work by blocking the action of a substance in the body called cyclo-oxygenase. Cyclo-oxygenase is involved in producing prostaglandins, in response to injury or certain diseases. These prostaglandins cause pain, swelling and inflammation. Because NSAIDs block the production of these prostaglandins, they are effective at relieving pain and inflammation.
SO , the meds will relieve swelling and inflammation in your back....but, read below:
This medicine may cause fatigue and dizziness. You should take care when performing potentially hazardous activities, such as driving or operating machinery, until you know how this medicine affects you and are sure you can perform such activities safely.
So Sarah, be careful with this med...it will help relieve the swelling & pain, but may cause dizziness and you may have trouble with driving. What you do, is take the med when you don't have to leave home. As it gets into your system, eventually your body will get accustomed to it and the dizziness may go away. Try it out & see how it works....use caution..
Love you,
Irene
