Does eternity exist in a moment?

Only to those who think in terms of time.

Thats the main theme of a book I'm writing actually.

If eternity is a timeless existence then yes it has to exist in one moment. The passage of a moment implies time so in a timeless existence there can only be one moment that never passes. Then again eternity could be an endless procession of moments, as it is more often imagined. In that case time still exists and it stretches on forever.

I think that we exist in time, but God, the architect of time, obviously does not exist in time. He most likely can enter an existence where time is as meaningful to us, but unlike us, He can leave the temporal existence any time He wants.

I also think that we were not created to exist this way, we were created to exist eternally like God, and that the physical moment by moment existence is all part of the curse.

And so God sees us the way that we were created, in the eternal sense, God sees our past, present and future simultaneously where as we can only exist in the present and conceptualize the others.

As we pass from this life we will return to our eternal existence either with God or away from God.

Well, of course that's nonsense. But the official Catholic idea is that Heaven is not an Eternity, it's an instant of perfect communion with God.

I believe it does because time is something that can't be measured. And with all the things like black holes and wormholes and the like slowing down and stopping time at the same time, so I believe so. Like if I were moving at the speed of light for ten years, my ten years would happen in like ten days to you, for example.

Then was just a now, that was then. I think I know what you have been thinking and I have been thinking the same thing. We picture forever as a long time, but really...its just now.
