What's it like to work as an F1 Engineer?

I am 15. What's a great way to start learning and getting more involved in the sport? As far as I've read about working on a F1, most part of it makes sense to me. Any advice, please?

Update:

Would any local racecourses offer anything?

I have the Barber Motor Sports Park and Talladega Racecourse?

Just throwing it out there if that helps . . . .

Update 2:

I love the sound of this competition you speak of . . .Webber fan. Thank you for your answers.

I think they do ridiculously long hours and they work incredibly hard. They're also the best engineers in their field so it's very competitive to even get into F1. F1 is a cut throat environment, if you don't cut the mustard, you're out.

For instance, on the 22nd May F1 was in Spain, the next weekend they were racing at Monaco. 2 weekends after that, they were racing in Canada, and 2 weekends later, they're racing in Spain again. Their deadlines are extremely short, and they have to get a lot of work done in a short amount of time. Very competitive environment.

Getting an engineering degree and getting over to Europe as soon as you can would be a start. Try to get into the junior formulas there and work into F1. Hope it works out for you.
