Anyone have problems with auto glass company harrassing you?

It's one thing to solicit a business through mail, phone etc., but to come to your home and inspect your vehicle 'without' your permission, feels like a direct invasion of my property. I don't think it is very respectful of a company to allow their solicitees to do that. They harrass you at the carwash, and call you twenty times a month, and come to your door. We've had two guys come to our door in just a week and a half from auto glass. They're real nice at first, and they have excuses, and answers for every NO you tell them, and when you finally get fed up with their persistance, they get cocky with you, and down right mean!!!

Isn't their a law for this kind of harrassment? Can it be construed as harrassment?

We have told these people time and time again to leave us alone and they won't do it. Is there something legally we can do about this?

Update:

Carla: Yes they should make a law against that. LOL

Update 2:

Achi: We have cahones...LOL Yes we have slammed the door and hung up the phone.

AL: thank you for a very helpful answer. :-D

Look you all, we have done everything you have mentioned......I'm mainly concerned with their behavior and them getting down right mean. It's threatening.

You can contact the local Better Business bureau and make sure that they know what is going on. Many companies use outside help and pay a commission on sales so that the company itself may not really be aware of what some of their salesmen do to get sales and calling the company itself and telling them that you are going to sue for get an injunction against the company may make them take steps to correct their sales people as to how they approach people.

No this is a free country. There isn't much you can do but tell them to leave or don't call you etc.. Just deal with it. The supermarket uses cards so they can put in their computer what the person with a card buys. Then they will stand at the door offering people coupons or samples. How do you expect to have a law against things like that. Look Bill Clinton voice called my house during the election to vote for Obama. Should I look up a law against that

Grow some cahones and slam the door or phone. Stop falling for the answer for every no you say. It's basic sales... If you give in every time eventually you will buy. They count on this in weak willed people. You have every right to be rude and snub them

Like already pronounced get your self at the do not call checklist. If after 30 days being at the checklist you nonetheless recieve these calls you could document the variety to the FCC, in simple terms ensure you get the agency's call, and if plausible the guy you spoke to. at an identical time as its not a gurantee, this may help supply you criminal grounds opposed to these telemarket callers.
