    Hello,

First of all, you can get funding for an apprenticeship between the ages of 16 and 24, so there's still plenty of time for you to find a position.

If apprenticeship vacancies aren't being advertised directly, you could speak to local apprenticeship providers - these are the companies who provide the training rather than the employers themselves, and they'll usually know where there are vacancies. Try local colleges, or search for local apprenticeship providers here: https://apprenticeshipvacancymatchingservice.lsc.g...

You could also look at apprenticeship vacancies on sites like this one: http://www.notgoingtouni.co.uk/jobs/search

In terms of improving your chances, getting some unpaid work experience could work in your favour. I know you have already updated your CV, but getting some help with this might also be a good idea as there is always room for improvement. Your local job centre should be able to give you advice on this.

If you haven't already, try following up by calling the employers you send CV's to - they may be willing to give you feedback on your application. Any advice or information from employers on why you didn't have any luck with your application is very valuable, and can be used to improve your next application.

    Good luck!

No, the Government sites are promoting apprenticeships and adult apprenticeships on one of the links as I had a look at it. Wages are offered but at about 95 a week.

The other choice is to go back to college and learn a trade or even the armed forces will give you something that will last you well into the future.

Whether you'd want to be a plumber, electrician and any other trades, you need to go to school for it. Apprentices are hired through the training institutions. The training program for plumber is usually shorter as opposed to electrician's program. Companies do hire final stage apprentices for them to complete their license requirement.
