What would happen if Israel left the PA territories?
Let's presume the PA trick works in September and they get their own country and Israel is forced to leave the 10% of land they're in. What will happen then? Will the Palestinians immediately use this to attack? Will they start a civil war among themselves between Hamas and Fatah? Will they actually try to work on their economy and civil rights, not just kill Jews? Will it be a democracy? A theocracy? A dictatorship?
What do you think and why do you think that?

here is what i find very interesting...
israel left gaza... not one jew there now, and that is also the palestinians plan for the west bank.
however there will still be more than 1 million palestinians living within israels borders.
so which is the true apartheid? the country that has both jews and palestinians within its borders or the country that just allows palestinians and no jews.
as for what will happen... i have asked repeatedly here the question "if israel gave into every single demand the palestinians have would they then agree to peace and stop all violence" the answer, my friend, was a resounding NO!!!!!
also just go onto the egypt or lebanon site and see what is written there. they say that as soon as egypt has its strength back that they will attack israel and wipe it off the map regardless of whether the palestinians have their country or not.
so nothing has changed.....
the best predictor of future behaviour is past behaviour. the palestinians had everything they demand now and they were not happy then, why would they be happy now?

Ya okay, Fatah and Hamas final peace deal will last forever? Comon your pro palestine and you should know they will not last forever, 2 different ideologies.
1. As long as Hamas is in power and Jewish law inhabits Jerusalem, then they will attack from any angle.
2. Too early to tell about Civil War. They have 2 different ideologies about the Palestinian questions. They did not have a good relationship before and hated each other passionately.
3. Yea im sure they will but they will not stop attacking Israel. A 40 plus year conflict will not stop that easy.
4. There will NEVER be a democracy in the middle east. Democracy is a failed term in Islam besides Indonesia, some Turkey and some western sphere muslims. Democracy will not happen in Palestine. Just like Egypt, half the population can not read or write so how can you have a middle class? Same with Palestine, same issues and having HAMAS in power is not democracy. Jews and Christians are never allowed in Palestine so what democracy are we talking about? HAMAS WILL NOT LEAVE POWER, THAT SIMPLE.
I know this because the Koran conflicts with democracy in so many ways. Palestine does not have oil fields where it can be friends with the west for oil well money. People do not think and have no understanding of middle eastern politics and religion and If anybody here try's to tell you that Democracy will happen in Palestine, Then they are just full of themselves.

This would be a good first step by Israel to help to start heal wounds from 60 years of occupation and harrassment by the Israeli military.
Israel could give them limited freedoms by not having troops within the PA terroritory borders. Even if Hamas/Fatah attacked Israel, it would be one sovereign nation attacking another sovereign nation instead of one nation oppressing an ethnic minority group within it's own borders. This is a much better justification for military action.
Personally I would have more sympathy for Israel if they got attacked under this scenario instead of Army Bulldozers destroying people's homes in the occupied territories and settlers stealing PA land to build homes where they are not welcome.

They will work in their economy and civil rights, and It will be a democracy.
Why? Ramallah is already having a good economy, it will definitely stretch to at least Nablus, Hebron and Jericho. Gaza on the other hand is having an excellent geographical location and is the only one on the Mediterranean coastlines, i think with few support and hardworking, it can be another Sharm El-Sheikh.
99% the "Palestinians State" will not be established unless they sign a peace treaty with Israel, and even if you are scared of Hamas, they haven't shot any rocket after the last fire cease.
And oh yea, dont forget that this newly established state will get so many support from US, Europe, Rich arabs and other muslims countries, even from Israel it self.
I am sure it will work out, just give them the chance to, Jordan is filled with Palestinians (almost 80%) and they haven't launched any attack on Israel since 1967!!

There would be civil war among Palestinian factions, as well as more attacks on Israel.
It will not be a democracy in any meaningful sense. It will be ruled by the gun. Theocracy is unlikely, as many of the PA leaders aren't particularly religious; dictatorship it will be, to the extent that anybody can force his will on the others.
Certainly there are those who will try to work on the economy, but the militants will give them a hard time.

In your answer you said that there have not been any rockets fired from Gaza since the last ceasefire.
I would encourage you to follow an Israeli news company on twitter and see that there are rockets bring fired, albeit less often, into Israel every month.

If you always do what you have always done, you will always get the same thing you have always gotten.
If Israel leaves the territories the PA claims, then within weeks, the Palestinians will be kidnapping Jews from their new borders, and the PA will be sending raiding parties into Israel to kill and bomb Israeli citizens.
No change.

The first thing ALL Palestinians will do is celebrating their freedom.........then , THEY will decide their OWN future FREELY........One can wish them LUCK and to live in PEACE .......But ...What would happen when israel leave Palestine........would israel be a real democracy?.... A theocracy.?....or A dictatorship ?............An Apartheid state.......or A racist state....... Would israel leave the HIGH WALLS CASTEL mentality or BREAK ALL THE WALLS and live in peace with the neighbores......

hard to say
In all likelihood repressive corrupt regimes would appear, with Hamas ruling the Gaza Strip, and Fatah ruling the West Bank

In 1947 Israel were given 56% of all Palestine. If that's not enough for them then they can always return to their country of origin. Either way the problem would be solved
