Do you think that Novak is almost guaranteed to leave wimbledon as #1 now?

Here's my reasoning...

If Novak makes the final, he will get the #1 ranking irrespective of the result in the final. If Novak loses to Tsonga and somehow Rafa defeats Murray, Tsonga with his confidence after today and the fact that he defeated Rafa at Queens will most likely defeat Rafa again. In fact we might even see a repeat of the Australian Open 2008 semi finals if Tsonga and Rafa met. I am a fan of Novak and Rafa but just being objective here.

Update:

Guys, did y'all even read my question? I am not asking who will win wimbledon. And just an FYI since y'all are not aware - If Novak makes the final he will be world #1 no matter the results of the final. Novak is defending a sem final spot so if he makes the final he will gain a few hundred points (and the difference between Rafa and Novak is just 75 or so points).

Update 2:

Eric, sounds like you are saying Tsonga's chances of defeating Novak and Rafa (if both make the final) are pretty good. If that happens, Novak takes #1. Novak takes #1 if he makes the final or if Rafa loses (in the SF or F...doesn't matter).

He may leave with the ranking, but not the title, and I doubt he can defend all those points he won during his streak... the rankings are tabulated by a computer... the players rank by who holds the major titles... if Rafa wins he is #1 and even Djokovic would tell you that.

Like Wozniacki.... she wins the warm ups but not the Majors.... she is only #1 to IBM.

Well if you look at the head to head match up between Tsonga and Djokovic, Tsonga has a 5 to 2 winning record. Seeing how he defeated Nadal at Queens and Federer now at Wimbledon, he is very capable of defeating Djokovic if he plays like how he did today. In fact, he can even defeat Nadal if hes in good shape. I remember the 08 australian semis, Tsonga just overpowered Nadal with his forehand.

So yeah, don't think its guaranteed yet.

Never ever underestimate Nadal, who unlike Federer, is still in his prime. I am seeing a classic Djokovic Nadal final at Wimbledon and I think Novak will be the favorite.

Nole made the semi'es last year. If he makes the final, he will become number one regardless of what Nadal does.

Tsonga has to defeat Joker and Nadal has no choice but to repeat as a champion if he wants to keep his pole position.

Why do you believe that Rafa will lose at all? As long as he wins, he stays #1
