ASUS N71Jq power cord alternative?
I have one of these: http://www.asus.com/Notebooks/Multimedia_Entertain...
I've had it for almost a year, and over the past few months, the power cord has been a bit touchy. Now, it (the power cord) has completely stopped working, even after a single, successful "caveman/Fonzie" technique of hitting it until it works.
I'd rather not buy the same cord from the same company, so are there any alternatives?

There are alternatives. You can try on web sites like www.ebay.com. But most safe replacement is from the original manufacturer. The chargers are very sophisticated equipment. The technique used is called trickle charging. The charging voltage is kept slightly higher than the battery voltage so that low electric current flow takes place. If higher current flows it may damage the battery. Read something on chargers here : http://www.carloscornejo.net/universal-laptop-char...
