Does anyone have "horsey"plans for the upcoming?

holiday weekend? Or what will you be doing?

Update:

We are taking a non-horsey holiday. Our family rides motorcycles so we are doing some two wheel therapy as my husband puts it. We live in Michigan and we are traveling to the Upper Peninsula. Everyone have a happy and safe holdiay--horsey or not!!!!

Update 2:

:( Bummer to all of you that have to work!!!

It's super hot here in Oklahoma so I plan on getting up early in the morning on Monday and taking the horses to the arena to ride and then to my house for a good shower and graze in the yard. My farrier is coming that morning too on his way to the lake to trim up Brutus' hooves and check on the other too. I also have to go pick up my hay shipment at 1:00 and talk to the contractor about the barn improvements that I'm doing. I also have a welder coming out at 4:00 to see to the gates as I'm having taller outside gates put in to keep Monty in. After that I've got to check fence and then go home and start cooking supper.

Yay for people from Michigan! I haven't been to the UP in years...I should really do that again. Nothing is quite as therapeutic as the Upper Peninsula.

Well, I was going to spend a lot of time this weekend visiting with the ponies and continuing to work on getting my property ready for them to move over here by the end of this year.

However, I just got word that my future father in law is in the hospital, so I may end up spending a lot of time there visiting him. He's had bone cancer for the past four years, and we are a little apprehensive to see how this emergency trip to the hospital turns out. (any of you guys out there feel like shooting up a prayer for the man, have at it! It is appreciated!)

On top of that, I have an abcessed, infected root canal, and I am in a bit of pain. The fiance has back troubles that flared up again, so we are kind of a broken down family. lol. This is not going to be the holiday weekend that I had planned on. :(

    Happy Fourth to you all!

Absolutely. Our local horse rescue group is sponsoring an Independence Day open house in an effort to raise funds for our horses, make people aware of the problems facing horse owners at present, try to promote adoption of some of our horses to good homes, and I will be donating my time to trim the horses so that every adopted horse will go home with the gift of a proper trim. Other horses will also be showcased getting trimmed in a classroom type atmosphere to teach owners and prospective owners what to look for in proper care for their horses feet, nutrition and grooming. We have students from the University that will be there assisting with handling the horses and bathing them, grooming them. Entrance to the event is a bag of carrots or a bag of apples and if someone can't bring them, we have bags that families can pick up at the entrance to the event. Hopefully, we will find good homes for some great horses. These events are always fun and very rewarding. Should be great for all.

I was in a car crash last friday, broke my chest bone and have internal bleeding of the stomach.

my horsey plans are out the window.

If I wasn't in hospital I'd have started my mares fitness regieme tomorrow after a long few weeks off due to proud flesh on her legs, got the proud flesh removed 2 weeks ago and the wound is tiny, it's healing up very nicely and quickly. I was going to start her again this weekend.

But instead I'm sitting at home in a lot of pain high off my head on morphene.

Hopefully next week I will be going with some barn friends and our instructor up to the instructors house/barn (Privilege) an we will be painting the horses with some horse paint for the fourth of july then riding up to the local park and go riding around.

The extent of my horse plans is trying to find time to ride my horse around my work schedule- my boss won't let us take weekends off or holidays. So i'm spending it being treated like crap by customers who are grouchy even when they're getting ice cream.

There's an upcoming holiday? D: Ohh, 4th of july? Yes? no? I'm Canadian so forgive me if I'm wrong, I dont pay attention to US holidays haha

Well, anyways, all summer I'll just be schooling horses & helping with summer camps. But the upcoming weekend I'm doing show prep.

I'm going to ride some horses this weekend, but in the 4th there's not going to be anything horsey going on haha.......party time!

It's hot here & is going to be all weekend, but I still have to go round & round in circles to get my horse, & mostly myself ready for a show next weekend. Plus my mom is coming to town, I plan to get her on her mare so we can ride together, it's been years!
