I was just wondering about that, because ambient sounds for your guitar can back up some The Orb-ish techno extremely well.

I'm not sure what you mean by ambient guitar, but Seefeel are an electronic band that generate a lot of their sounds with guitars and other "live" instruments and then process them into something almost unrecognizable:
