how does a cuttlebug and the likes work?

these embossing machines where you feed it through via a handle. i just wondered how they work because i cant afford one at the moment but would love to emboss and use some of the folders or spellbinders if i can.

might sound daft but can i emboss with a rolling pin. i know i can use the spellbinders as a template and i have one i want to buy, but some are more intricate and likely to require a machine.

You could experiment with a rolling pin but your results may not be what you want as the pressure you can apply with a rolling pin may not be even .

If you do use a rolling pin, you will also need the acrylic sheets that 'sandwich' a die or embossing folder in between the roller of a Big Shot or Cuttlebug. You will cut into your rolling surface and rolling pin without them.

Why not go to a craft store and see if they have a machine you can use as a customer? Many craft stores do that :)

    HTH!
