Does Anti Chew Spray really work for Puppies?
I have a puppy and she is only chewing the edge of my carpet where the metal strip holds it down. It is now fraying and she goes for it more and more.... does the anti chew sprays you get really work as i dont want to pay £6.00 for a bottle of it for it to not work.. Thanks

The Bitter Apple spray worked for my Maltese. Also, with my new puppies chewing on toes and fingers - I have a bottle of lemon juice that I put a little on my hands. She doesn't like that. But for carpet - I don't know. The smell goes away in a very little time. Maybe a bowl of it near where she chews might work but I can't promise. Lemon juice, lime juice or vinegar.

no never for me. i no it sounds terrible but great danes make enormous holes, they can take a barrel apart in no time and the only thing that stopped them from coming back to chew more was taking Cian pepper water make a paste with it then i paint with it on everything the have chewed on. most of them don't even put their mouths on it the smell makes them shake their heads and they leave it alone. after a few days the smell dissipates so repeating is necessary for about a week then i just leave it. they don't come back even to sniff. it is not 100% i had a large male that developed a taste for it. he would whine when it was gone, even go to the cabinet. but he didn't chew on it anymore. he wanted more. i think he got it from kids leaving their taco bell on the BENCH outside instead of the trash. none the less ive had many other dog and it has worked when everything else did not while training.

It's not perfect. It's a mixture of flavours that most dogs find unpalatable and it tends to make puppies go and chew something else. Whether it works depends on your puppy's taste and how persistent she is. Chewing is natural for puppies so you need to give her something else to chew on. Excessive chewing is a sign of boredom.

The sour apple stuff?
One of my dogs licked it off things, he loved it, it did stop him chewing for a short time only because he was to busy licking it, lol

They work for some dogs, but not all of them.
Before trying that, I would simply try to increase the amount of supervision provided.
And when you are not able to keep a proper eye on her, simply place her in the crate.

Someone told me recently that they had tried Bitter Apple spray and found that it worked very well.
Good luck
