American Christians of R&S, do you celebrate this holiday, Independence Day?
If so, why? What does it mean to you?
It's also when it was declared that "all men are created equal" and have rights - that includes folks of different religions, atheists, gays, etc.

Yes we do. It is our countries birthday and the beginning of our freedom. We usually set off fireworks but it has been so dry in this part of Texas that we cannot because of wildfires. So we are just getting together and having a BBQ at the church. We also have a New Years Party at the church and pray in the new year.
Up Yours: So glad that you know me well enough to put words into my mouth like that. Instead of trying to be a hateful assuming little imp why not try to ask people what they meant.
P.S. By "our freedom" I meant everyone in this country not just those that believe in God.
Way to make yourself look like ***!

The question is directed to Christians which I now no longer am; yet as a guy or woman suggested Catholic i think of i will show that celebrating a countrywide trip does no longer be in conflict with Christian teachings for the reason that they do no longer seem to be celebrating a non-religious trip or commemorative day as a holy day to start with. Celebrating the 4th has no longer something to do with faith; and Christianity - a minimum of in the Catholic Church - does no longer preserve any prohibition against celebrating non-religious occassions. Birthday celebrations are yet another occasion.

Yes, it's when we started our country and booted out England who was taxing us to death...
I get to be with family and eat a lot. It's fun to eat a lot.

We sure do! It means that we are blessed to follow Jesus and live His way of life without restrictions or persecution.
