Gasoline in radiator?
An employee accidentally put a small amount of gasoline into one of my forklift's before he was stopped. Forklift is now not running well. What damage did he do, and how can I purge the tank. Will that fix the issue?

well was the gas put in the radiator or the gas tank? from what your describing it was put in the fuel tank. I am assuming that it is a diesel type fork, if so, then drain the tank, the fuel lines and any place else that the polluted fuel is located at, such as the fuel water separator then refill with diesel. that should take care of the issue. as to how to drain the tank this may require siphoning if there isn't a drain located on the tank.

Drain the system and flush it. A small amount of gasoline in the radiator should not cause any permanent damage. If left there however, it will cause the bearings to fail in the water pump.

you can either suction out as much as you can from the radiator or drain the radiator adn refill it but since there is not a vacuum hose to the radiator on any car or engine that i have ever seen, that might not be the problem. it is still an issue with cooling but the fact that it is not running well should not be related unless the fuel in the system is allowing the engine to run at a higher temperature. that would effect how the engine performs.

Just drain it and refill with coolant. It probably didn't do anything. Drain and refill is flushing it. When you are flushing something you are just using a machine. But its the same concept of draining and refilling with coolant.
