Will my motherboard chipset drivers repair my USB?

I recently upgraded my hard drive and now my USB ports are showing as USB 1 rather than USB 2, so I have found the chipset drivers for my motherboard, will this repair the fault with my USB?

If so are there any problems with reinstalling a motherboards chipsets?

Thanks in advance

You should uninstall it before installing them again. It might fix it, really it depends on if that is what is causing the problem.

you can try un-istalling the drivers then re-start the PC to refresh the system hoping it will fix the problem, if it does not work, try re-installing the Chipset, and if still does not work, the better way to go is contacting the support dept of the manufacturer, but those guys take forever to create a fix, at the same time start shopping for a USB card
