for the past few years i've been obsessed with LA; not that hollywood glamour thing but the lifestyle, scenery, and food. Never been there but i think i might go towards the end of the year. My question is do you like it there or is it overated. Also how is the beach around novemberish? can i swim in it or will it be to cold. Any info would be appreciated; thank you.

November? Eh it'll probs be empty..wait till summer. The weather is nice, very few occasions of rain this year. I love LA compared to all the other cities in states I went too. If you already live here and haven't traveled much then you don't really appreciate and notice the difference. But you are thinking of visiting...so you probs love it :)

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, L.A, I go up there all of the time. It's not too far from where I live. Aside from all of the cliche thoughts about LA, it's beautiful if you know where to go.. There are many run down, dirty places, but Santa Monica, Long Beach, and Beverly Hills are to die for.. Hollywood is ... Eh... Noooo way could you swim in November, you can't even swim in the ocean in May.. The Pacific is cold.. Unless you have a body suit on and will surf... But enjoy it! LA is awesome.

You need a wetsuit to swim unless it is summer. Try not to swim too near the sewage outlets.
The city is alright, maybe walk down main street in Santa Monica...it is a decent balance between a hip locals' spot and the fantasy of LA.
