  • Cruiser motorcycle for small rider?

I am looking for a good cruiser for my first motorcycle. I am not new to bikes and I have rode dirtbikes up to 250cc for quite some time, but now I want a real bike. As far as motorcycle models I am completely oblivious to the hundreds of brands and models out there. I am 5'3" and weight 130, but I am extremely muscular, but I want a lower bike that isn't too heavy, but it will still be suited for cruising. I want it to have the newer features with the bells and whistles like cruise, gauges, and a comfortable ride because it will be used for a 40 mile drive to work everyday, as well as the occasional long trips. I also need it to be reliable and safe to support 2 riders, but I won't be two upping for long road trip, but I will be taking girls out for road trips. I've considered the shadow but it's pretty bare bones, and I am really thinking about the sportster as well. I don't want a crotch rocket, and on a last note I want it too look good ie traditional v twin masculine look, and under 10k. Suggest me some model please and thank you.

  • have some pilot questions?

hello i am interested in becoming a pilot (pre med now) and my dream is the left seat of a boeing at a major airline one day but ive read that chances are most never make it to the big airlines. my questions are what are regionals like and how do they compare to major airlines? i know pay isnt as good but whats it like? i like the idea of flying all around america or maybe even long hauls to other countries. also do they ever fly bigger jets like 777s, 767s, 737s, etc? most i ever see are small body md 80 series and prop planes : (. what are the realistic odds of becoming a pilot at the majors? (i have non flying army experience but considering going to the usaf). lastly as real pilots would you recommend aviation or medicine? most say do both but to become a major pilot or md takes full commitment and lots of time so i dont have room for medicine and being a pilot so opinions welcome.

One of my dreams is to fly big jets for a big airline one day. How hard is it to become an airline pilot at one of the big airlines; i am always hearing it's hard and most who aspire of flying the 747's, 777's etc never make it there. What is it like flying big jets like 747's and how long did it take you. What's the ideal way to become a pilot at a big airline. Any extra info regarding planes etc would be welcome. Thank you very much.

  • small aircraft vs big jets?

What do you prefer? i know there alot of pilots on this site. Do you prefer flying big jets like the 747, 767 etc or do you like the more hands on feeling of flying small prop and jet aircrafts like Cessna's etc. Also do you like flying huge jets or does it just become button pushing and routine.

  • what's it like flying a huge jet?

I know I asked a similar question awhile back but i would like a very in depth answer if you would. I would like to hear from experienced pilots so no fsx nerds or "how to become a pilot" articles i can find on google. I would like to know what's it like flying a big jet like a 747 or similar aircraft from taxing to the runway to taxing after landing. some main points i'm looking for is it fun, would you rather fly smaller aircraft for more of a "flying" experience like a cesna, does it become routine, is it alot of hype, does the novelty of flying a big jet day to day wear off, and any other extra stuff you can throw in there would be appreciated. This is a serious question fyi; thank you for your time. lastly just an opinion question; do you think it would be possible to become a jet pilot (bombadier lear jets etc) as a side job/hobby after becoming an MD? Thank you for your time and response.

  • high school math question help?

A pool table measuring 8 metres by 4m with 4 pockets measuring 0.5m and placed at diagonal slants in all 4 corners contains 10 balls (each with a diameter of 0.25m) placed at the following coords:

    2m,1m...(white ball)

    ...and red balls...

    1m,5m... 2m,5m... 3m,5m

    1m,6m... 2m,6m... 3m,6m

    1m,7m... 2m,7m... 3m,7m

The white ball is then shot at a particular angle from 0 to 360 degrees (0 being north, and going clockwise).

Just to make it clear, a ball is 'potted' if at least half of the ball is in area of the 'pocket'

Assuming the balls travel indefinitely (i.e. no loss of energy via friction, air resistance or collisions), answer the following:

a: What exact angle/s should you choose to ensure that all the balls are potted the quickest?

b: What is the minimum amount of contacts the balls can make with each other before they are all knocked in?

c: Same as b, except that each ball - just before it is knocked in - must not have hit the white ball on its previous contact (must be a red instead of course).

d: What proportion of angles will leave the white ball the last on the table to be potted?

  • paronychia infection?

I believe i have paronychia around my thumb. About a year ago the area by my cuticle got really swollen, red and if you touched it would depress and stay that way. One day i applied pressure on it and it drained pus for awhile. It never went away though. Now no pus drains anymore but the area around the cuticle is still big and abnormal. It really isn't that tender anymore but i hate the look of it. I don't have any med. insurance so i can't go to the doctor. Could it be something else? i've tried the warm water soaks but it hasn't helped much. I would prefer to get rid of it without the doctor.

  • performance/s10 question, 10 points to best answer!?

I have a 91 2.8L v6 TBI 5 spd manual s10 that i recently rebuilt the lower end engine in. I want some more power though, but i'm skeptical of products out there. I'm not your dumb teen who wants a race car but one who has some decent automotive knowledge, but is inquiring to other GM truck owners. My question is, will a high flow muffler (flowmaster) give me any gains that i will notice ( i don't want to cut down on my torque and lose acceleration). Q2- will a high flow cat. give me performance gains, Q3- Will a chip or module give me gains (its stock engine, sept the new lower end), i doubt this will. Q5- will a throttle body spacer work, i doubt it will. Q4- should i paint it gloss black, red, or white. Try to answer all the questions, and any recommendations (budget is important) for more power are welcome. no humor

  • need help with my truck, opinions welcomed, 10 points for best?

I have a 91 s-10 2.8L and i want to add some sound and look to it. I plan on adding a flowmaster 40 series muffler to it but here's the catch, i want to put dual rear exit after muffler exhaust on it but they don't have a single in dual out muffler for my truck. (i really only want flowmaster) What can i do to create this dual exhaust after my muffler and have them exit out the back. and how much would this cost minus the muffler for me to do it? could i get a piece of pipe that branch's into two outlets or would i have to buy a Y pipe? any reasonable advice helps and will get points.

  • going goin back back to cali cali, need some tips and info. 10 points to good info?

sorry for the long script but bear with me, for the past 3 years i've been facinated with SoCal and either this summer or next summer i'll be headin out your way to Long beach. I was just wondering what the road/travel situation is like out there, i hear its terrible but what is the deal with parking and what should i expect when parking and driving and could i experience LA in two weeks- 1 month? One thing i plan on doing is going to alot of the eateries and such around LA that are famous and the unheard of that LA is famous for such as Phillipe's, el tepeyac, pinks, fat burger, In-N-Out, apple pan, Umami burger, Roscoe's etc. I also want to hang on the beach, mainly swimming and fishing; i was wondering in june/july if its that cold in the ocean and where good Beach's are (not that crowded), and whats the pier fishing like and how i can do it (license and what i can catch and keep etc). Also whats some fun things to do in LA, i got places like the getty, muholland drive, queen mary 2, la brea tar pits etc. just any advice you can give such as places to eat, go, tourist traps etc. I'm gonna head out there with about a grand, I got a house to stay at in LBC so would a grand be enough (minus 220ish for gas for the one way trip there from St. Louis). i got a pretty good plan for the trip so far, and i know that alot of the LA stuff is hollywood and its not all the glitz and glam like in the movies so i'm realistic about that, but any advice would be nice. One last thing, are there any sky scrappers I can go in and onto the top?

  • Bring your Opinions and Facts! need help w/ ps2 disc?

I got a few games with pretty good scratches on them. My ps2 plays other games with minor scratches pretty good so im sure its not the famous eye problem. I tried the toothpaste trick on my San Andreas disc and didn't work. i tried it several times. I used white toothpaste non gel and let it stand for 5 minutes before washing it off. It seems it only made it worse; I hear alot of controversy over this trick and i think it dosn't work. A little over half says it dosn't work, while the other bit says it does. I gave up and i'm just going to take it to Gamestop to rebuff it. Any tips here are appreciated.

  • ps2 disc read errors?

I need some solutions to fix scratched ps2 disc's or it may be due to m ps2 partly along with scratches. DETAILS- I just bought a ps2 because i have several of games for it that i wanted to play after my previous one broke. The one i bought is another slim and it was used but in pretty good condishion. I know that the ps2 especially the slims are prone to reading errors due to cheap lasers but i'm not sure if it's the games or the ps2. I can play other games which are sort of scratched and after a quick swipe down they work perfectly. The problem is with my gta san andreas disc's/gta vice city; i have two copies of SA which are both scratched badly but they start up perfectly and after a few minutes of play they give the famous disc read error. I the tried toothpaste trick along with cleaning and chapstick tricks with no results accept they got worse lol. I cleaned the ps2 after a few disc read errors and after that the 2nd SA disc worked for awhile then started acting up out of nowhere. SA is the main reason i bought the ps2 and i've been dying to play the game. I live about 50 minutes away from any places that have disc buffers so avoid that answer unless that's the only thing i should do; also if you might have some info on how much gta SA might cost at a store that would be nice. Thank you, 10 points to any answer that helps me or fix's my game
